The Details: 

Participants will be allowed to select from a variety of New Era's headwear and apparel and given full creative discretion to construct avant-garde works of art on mannequins. The headwear and apparel samples will range in color, size, material, and texture. All participants will have the opportunity to preview the materials and will have access to additional materials throughout the weekend.

The Design-a-thon will run from 5:00 PM on Friday, March 14th, through 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 16th. Selected participants will receive an agenda, timeline, and event breakdown.

Final Showcase & Judging Criteria:

1. Creativity and Originality: Assess the design's uniqueness and departure from traditional fashion norms. Look for unconventional and imaginative elements.

2. Artistic Expression: Judge the piece as artwork. Does it provoke emotions, thoughts, or reactions? How effectively does it convey a message or concept?

3. Innovation: Examine the use of materials, techniques, and methods. Look for inventive and experimental approaches to fashion design and quality of construction.

4. Aesthetic Appeal: While avant-garde designs can be unconventional, they should still possess an aesthetic quality that captures attention.
